Frequently Asked Questions

What areas do you cover and how do you operate.

We cover the whole of the UK and Europe and travel directly to you to detail your car , this way you get to meet us in person  and are free to hang around to watch how we work and  the transformation of your car take place .On completion the car is left in your garage or place of storage where it should be , so you don’t have  the hassle of  having to arrange transportation or even worse , drive it home in the rain .

What is the difference between valeting and detailing.

Valeting is quite simply the process of cleaning the car whereas detailing is all about restoring the paintwork , external and internal finishes back to their original showroom condition . there is a massive difference in both the skill element and the time taken between the two processes.

Detailing has become a very trendy industry to get into over the last few years.  For example many valeters are now claiming to be detailers  just because they use the vast range of designer waxes and products available today, the truth is these guys are just valeting your car with expensive products that hide the imperfections and give a synthetic finish to your cars paintwork
A professional detailer will work directly on the paintwork,  machine polishing it to remove any imperfections and leaving it with a natural high gloss finish as opposed to a synthetic one

Can detailing increase the value of my car.

Detailing is a worthwhile investment for your car particularly when you consider that we can bring it back to in most cases better than showroom condition and then maintain it that way,
Most owners of sports and prestige cars leave no stone unturned in the maintenance and servicing of the engine and running gear but when it comes to keeping them clean can let the paintwork slip by resorting to cheap local cleaning services or products from the mainstream outlets . Leather interiors are quite often neglected resulting in brittle and cracked seats ,
The presentation of a car is quite often the deciding factor when purchasing a sports or prestige car ,  so a fully serviced car with immaculate paintwork will definitely have a greater perceived value than that of a car with tired paintwork and interior .
The difference in price between an average car and one in pristine condition can run into thousands so by getting it detailed you’re not only restoring the appearance but also more importantly it’s value.

Is detailing expensive.

If you’ve never had your car detailed before, then on the face of it , it can seem expensive , detailing is a very labour intensive process , if you take for example our restoration detail the average price for this service is £600 , our restoration detail takes on average 25 hours to complete but when you also take into consideration the cost of fuel , materials and insurance  (we have the most comprehensive  liability insurance available today) Our labour costs are circa £20 per hour , which isn’t bad for skilled labour especially when you consider that main dealers can charge up to and over £100 per hour for their labour time.
Also if you compare the cost against that of a re-spray it then becomes very economical even more so  when you consider that you are restoring the original paintwork

Price match / cheaper quotes

We often get asked if we will match the cheaper quotes of our competitors, the short answer is no ,  we all know that you get what you pay for in life and the detailing industry is no different .

We have no doubt that you will get cheaper quotes from competitors but it is important before choosing your detailer to ask exactly what you are getting for your money

You may get quoted £100 or so cheaper for a “full detail including paint correction” but in reality are they going to spend the time on your car that it needs to do it efficiently and without compromise. If you are quoted a time frame of any less than 2 days for paint correction then walk away, the chances are they will be using products to hide or mask the imperfections in your paintwork. Whether you choose to use our services or not make sure you choose a detailer who will remove the imperfections properly and remember to do this correctly takes time.
